Freedom Bikes is THE Brompton dealer for Brighton & Hove.

Made for Cities/Made for You

We have been selling and servicing Brompton bikes for many years, so have the experience and knowledge that you require in order to get the best out of your old Brompton or if you have any questions regarding the purchase of a new one.

We have a large stock of spares to deal with any repair, service or conversion. Whether it is a wheel build, a conversion from 3 to 6 speed or a simple cable.

We have two Brompton Demo bikes that are available for a test ride. An M6L (6 speed) with telescopic seatpost, and an S2L (2speed).

We always have a selection of Brompton that are available for immediate purchase:

The “M” type Brompton is by far the most popular model that we sell, particularly in the 3 speed version.

The flat bar “S” type is also popular for those wanting that slick look to their Brompton, or like the lower, more racey handlebar position. If you like your riding style to be a bit more upright, then the “M” type is more for you, or even the “H” type, for very tall riders or those wanting to replicate the very upright position of a traditional Dutch style bike.

The 6 speed version is great if you are looking at using your Brompton over a more varied range of gradients, but for Brighton or London you’ll probably find that the 3 speed is good enough…unless you live up Wilson avenue, Bear Road or Queens Park where you might find you want those extra gears…

Another alternative is to get the gearing adjusted on your Brompton to make those hills a bit easier, or harder if you want to go faster on the flat!

Other recommended upgrades are to get the Schwalbe Marathon tyres which are more durable and puncture resistant, and the battery lightest is well thought out in its design and fit on the bike, and represents great value for money.

The great thing about the Brompton is that it can be completely customised for your personal preference, be that the colour, the gearing, and the accessories. They can also be easily retrofitted if you can’t make your mind up at the time, or if new upgrades become available later on.
